Gregeration X Newsletter July 4, 2026-Summer is in Full Swing

Happy Independence Day!

By the time you receive this, I’ll have already spent the last few days and will spend the rest of the weekend at Anime Expo, the largest celebration of Japanese pop culture in North America, at the Los Angeles Convention Center in downtown LA. Last year’s event drew 410,000 attendees over four days, making it one of the biggest fan conventions in North America. The exhibit hall alone spans over 340,000 square feet, packed with merchandise, panels, world premieres, J-pop concerts, cosplay showcases, and more. I won’t be selling books or writing while I’m here. I’m going to relax and just soak up the geek energy for inspiration!

Prepping for the trip and work kept me busy this week, so I didn’t get to do a normal write-up for this month’s newsletter. Instead, I have a plethora of promotions and four featured authors. Next month I’ll give a recap of Anime Expo, including some of the top fantasy anime (we are in a golden age). We’ll also get back to my fantasy influences.

Novel Notices

I’m six chapters into Act III of Birthright! I’m currently at 123,000 words. It’s all action from here on out!

The Geek Speak Expo August 8th-CANCELED

Unfortunately The Geek Speak Expo scheduled for August 8th was cancelled. Hopefully there will be some sort of Virtual Geek Speak Expo later this year. I’ll provide details as soon as they become avaiable.

Summer Friction
