Shortly after sending the last newsletter, I sat down for an interview with Henry San Miguel of The Geek Speak Show. I met Henry at WonderCon, he’s a friend of, and a mentor to, Trent and Marc of Geek Off The Street. He’s a great guy and we had a fun discussion both before, during, and after the interview. I’m looking forward to the next time we get a chance to talk.
Here’s the link to just my interview: Greg Sorber on The Geek Speak Show
Or, listen to the whole show here (I start at 41 min): The Geek Speak Show
Enjoy!
I’m hoping to do better with my links this week. Last time I tried to take a few shortcuts in my normal newsletter processes, but obviously there were some flaws. I’ve tested all the links this week…I promise!
There was an audiobook group promo that had a broken link in my first email. Then, I sent another email, and it didn’t work in that one either! In any case, here it is one more time! The promotion runs through the end of April, so there’s still time to check it out.

Mechhaven Missives
- Since sending my last newsletter, I’ve added about 13,000 words to Book 5. I can see adding about another 10,000-12,000 to wrap everything up. This will put By Archangel’s Light at about 150,000 words! Holy Moly, that’s way longer than I expected!
- The last few chapters I’ve written have been tough, as will the final few chapters to come. I’m working on the culminating moments of the story and dealing with the fates of our favorite characters. I want to give satisfying conclusions to as many of them as possible.
- I’m pushing to wrap this up this weekend, but at my current pace of about 2,500 words per day, it could probably drift into next week. I’m super eager to get Book 5 off to my editor since that’s the next step to getting the book finished and into your hands!
Here’s a preview of the By Archangel’s Light bookmarks (Thanks, MikeBro, for your help with this!). I hope to have these available at Comic Con Revolution in May. Book 5 won’t be ready until sometime this summer, but the bookmarks should be good to go. Come to CCR Ontario and get one of your very own!

A Blind Hero. A Ruthless Alien Empire. A Rebellion on the Brink of Collapse.
Fifteen-year-old Tael is not your average slave. The Raxions may have stolen his sight and forced him into the mines, but he is more than just another cog in their war machine. He has an ability that makes him valuable—one the Raxions exploit. But he also possesses something far more dangerous, something that makes him their greatest threat.
When a daring escape throws Tael into the heart of the resistance, he faces an impossible choice: keep running and stay in the shadows or stand and fight. Betrayed by those he should trust and thrust into a war he never asked for, Tael must decide—will he embrace the power he never wanted and fight for freedom, or let the rebellion fall?
Fans of Red Rising, The Hunger Games, and Ender’s Game will love this high-stakes sci-fi adventure packed with rebellion, resilience, and the strength found in the darkest of places.

The first wave of colonists found alien life. The third wave doesn’t want peace. They want control.
This three-chapter, complete short story is a prequel for the Dead Cell series.
Tani’na and the few half-breed descendants of First and Second Waves of colonists are infected with Chromata, a sentient lifeform native to New Earth. But it isn’t the enemy.
First Wave, sent a century prior, made peace with the inhabitants. Some of Second Wave joined them when they arrived decades later. Most remain loyal to the Thyterion empire which is destined to arrive as the third and final wave. Emperor Riscerman wants the planet cleansed for their arrival. Tani’na wants revenge for the death of her mother and sister among thousands of others who perished in the Silacia settlement bombing.
Commander Worton must pay for following such heinous orders. Tani’na and her Father’s First Wave army storm the city and the state-building to retake control. Tani’na knows what must be done, and she’s the only one who can do it.
