The holiday season is here.
I just wrapped up meeting some pretty crazy deadlines at work, but have a few more days until I’m on vacation until after New Year’s. I’m so ready to slow down for a bit to enjoy my family, watch some movies, and read some books.
Regarding the title of this email, I have a bunch of promotions for you this week. Four are from authors, two for Kindle Unlimited, and four are free/giveaways. I normally try to limit promotions to between 1-3 authors, and 2-4 group promotions, however I really went overboard when signing up for promotions this time. By the time I realized I signed up for so many, it was too late to back out. But my mistake is your benefit. Since my next newsletter isn’t until December 28, I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas! Thank you for your support and I hope you can spend time with your loved ones doing whatever brings you joy over the next couple of weeks.
Mechhaven Missives
- I had a nice string of writing days over the last week, so by the time you’re reading this I’ll have hit 98,000 words in By Archangel’s Light. I’ll reach100,000 words by the end of the weekend. This is significant, because I always use 100,000 words as my target for first drafts.
- Judging by where I’m at in the final battle and the events that still need to happen, I’ll need another 15,000 words or so to wrap up the story.
- The good news is that beginning December 20th, I have a couple of weeks off from work, so I can concentrate on writing and get some higher word count days. This will help me wrap up the first draft of Book 5 by Christmas, or for sure, by New Year’s Day. Wish me luck!
